Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-09-01

These terms govern your use of the btc-cycle-lab software. The copyright licence itself is in LICENSE; where these terms and the licence differ on a point the licence covers, the licence wins.

1. What you are getting

A research tool that runs on your own computer. There is no hosted service, no account and no subscription. We do not operate infrastructure on your behalf and therefore offer no uptime, availability or support commitment of any kind.

2. Acceptance

By using the software you accept these terms and the DISCLAIMER.md. If you do not accept them, do not use it.

3. Not financial advice

The software produces statistics, not recommendations. It is not investment, legal, tax or accounting advice, and using it creates no adviser relationship. DISCLAIMER.md sets this out in full and forms part of these terms.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

5. What you must not do

6. Third-party data and services

The software fetches data from third parties at your request. We do not own, control, verify or warrant that data. Providers may change, restrict, price or withdraw their APIs at any time, which may stop parts of the tool from working. That is not a defect we undertake to fix.

Attribution requirements and known redistribution restrictions are documented in DATA_SOURCES.md. Read it before you publish anything derived from this data.

7. No warranty

The software is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it is free of errors, that its statistical methods suit your purpose, or that its results are correct.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with the software or its output — including trading losses — even if advised of the possibility.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; in those places the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify the authors and contributors against claims arising from your use of the software, your breach of these terms, or your breach of a data provider’s terms.

10. Contributions

If you contribute code, you licence your contribution under the same terms as the project — see CONTRIBUTING.md.

11. Changes

These terms may change. The git history of this file is the authoritative record of what changed and when. Continuing to use the software after a change means accepting the current version.

12. Governing law

Absent a mandatory rule to the contrary, these terms are governed by the laws of Poland, and the courts of Poland have jurisdiction. This does not remove consumer rights you have under the law of your own country of residence.

13. Severability

If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in force.
